Bill Pascrell Jr.: The Legacy of a True Paterson Hero

Congressman Bill Pascrell Jr. served in Congress for nearly 30 years, representing the Paterson area. 

Pascrell was a strong advocate for first responders, especially firefighters. 

He was the driving force behind the Firefighter Investment and Response Enhancement Act of 2000. 

Pascrell helped establish the Paterson Great Falls as a National Historical Park. 

He served on the House Ways and Means Committee since 2007. 

Pascrell co-chaired the Italian-American Congressional Delegation. 

He spent his entire life living in and serving Paterson, New Jersey.

Pascrell had a background in education, teaching history and serving on local educational boards. 

He served in the U.S. Army before his political career.

Pascrell passed away at 87 years old after a long career dedicated to public service.
